Spartans Hand Out Team Awards

The Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club handed out team awards at its end-of-season party on Saturday, Dec. 10th. Awards on voted on by the players, except for the Spartan of the Year, which is selected by ownership.

Nate Heard Signs with AFL’s Utah Blaze

Spartan defensive back, Nate Heard, has been signed by the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League (AFL) for the 2012 season. Heard was named a first-team 2011 IFL All-Star in his first season with the Spartans.

21 Spartans Named to 2011 IFL All-Star Team

The Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club is well-represented on the 2011 IFL All-Star team. This year’s team was selected by a panel of coaches and team representatives in both the American and National Conferences from a list of nominees submitted by respective teams. Spartans Win AFC Championship, 27-6 over JYDs

The American Conference Championship game in the Ironman Football League pitted the one-seed Wauwatosa Spartans (8-2) versus the two-seed Waukesha City Junkyard Dogs (7-3). The Spartans had beaten the Shorewood Monarchs in the first round of the playoffs, 30-14, and the Junkyard Dogs sent home the Southern Lakes Blue Devils by a score of 20-10, setting up the one versus two match-up. Spartans Beat Monarchs 30-14, Advance to AFC Championship

The Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club entered its Ironman Football League playoff game against the Shorewood Monarchs on high note. Winning its last five games, Wauwatosa came in owners of the one seed in the American Conference. Spartans Bury Panthers, Look to Playoffs

Wauwatosa –The Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club looked to use its final Ironman Football League regular season game against the Greendale Panthers at Charles Hart Park as a spring board to the playoffs. The Spartans came in winners of four straight, and in sole possession of first place in the American Conference. The Panthers came in 3-5, having already secured the third seed in the National Conference playoffs. Taking control early, the Spartans cruised to an easy win, 46-8. Read the rest of this page »

Spartans Sting Venom, Now 6-2

Wauwatosa – In Ironman Football League (IFL) action, the Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club “traveled” to Charles Hart Park in Wauwatosa to face the Milwaukee Venom. The Spartans were coming off a brutal three-game conference stretch that saw them go 3-0 and clinch the one seed in the American Conference playoffs. The Venom, at 1-6, were able to secure the team’s first win the week prior against the Fond du Lac Crusaders. When the dust settled, the Spartans ran their streak to four games, winning 27-0. Spartans Beat Blue Devils, Secure One Seed in AFC

Wauwatosa – In Ironman Football League (IFL) action, the Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club hosted the only team between them and a regular-season, first-place finish in the American Conference. That team: the Southern Lake Blue Devils. At 5-1, the Blue Devils possessed a better overall record than the Spartans (4-2), but the Spartans held a 3-0 conference mark, while the Devils sat at 2-1. The game was held at Wisconsin Lutheran College’s Raabe Field on another hot and muggy night in Wauwatosa. Spartans Topple Junkyard Dogs, Take over First Place

Wauwatosa – In Ironman Football League (IFL) action, the Wauwatosa Spartans Football Club hosted the conference-leading Waukesha City Junkyard Dogs at Charles Hart Park on Saturday afternoon.  The Spartans were fresh from a solid win the week before over conference rival, the Shorewood Monarchs, winning 42-8.  Waukesha City was also riding high after a convincing win over the Milwaukee Venom to the tune of 62-20. A win by the Spartan would catapult them to first place in the American Conference, leap-frogging the Junkyard Dogs, but a win by the Dogs would assure them first place, and a number one seed in the playoffs.
